La Poste Groupe welcomes the first Global Decarbonization Summit

On March 18 and 19, 2025, La Poste Groupe hosted the first edition of the Global Decarbonization Summit in Paris. On this occasion, some one hundred industry leaders and CSR experts discussed cooperation and action for a low-carbon economy.

La Poste Groupe took part in the first edition of this decarbonization summit as host partner. For two days, industry leaders and experts from major institutions, convinced of the need to act for sustainable performance, exchanged views on the levers of action for sustainability, energy independence and industrial competitiveness in logistics, transport and energy infrastructures.

La Poste Groupe, committed to the climate

Decarbonization is at the heart of La Poste Groupe's strategy, in all its activities. Committed for more than 15 years to the ecological and energy transition, the group has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 35% between 2013 and 2023.

In concrete terms, the Group is taking steps to decarbonize its real estate assets, as well as its logistics activities in France and abroad, operated by La Poste and Geopost. This commitment covers all our activities. For example, La Banque Postale was the first bank to stop investing in fossil fuels, and Docaposte is focusing its development on responsible digital technologies.

La Poste Groupe has set itself the goal of achieving zero net emissions by 2040, ten years ahead of the Paris Agreement targets. This trajectory will be certified in 2024 by the Science-Based Target initiative (SBTi). This commitment is recognized by the most demanding extra-financial rating agencies. At the beginning of 2025, the Group joined CDP's highly restricted Climate List A. At the end of 2024, it was also awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal, and Moody's ESG Assessment ranked it No. 1 worldwide across all sectors.

Our goal is zero net emissions by 2040, and I know we'll succeed. And if it's possible for us, it's possible for all companies, it's just a question of will and commitment.

Philippe Wahl

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of groupe La Poste.

Long-term commitment and cooperation are key to success

The speakers (from the Greater Paris Metropolis, London City Council, Ademe, ADP Group, Disneyland Paris, Schneider Electric, Enedis, Valeo, RTE, La Poste Groupe, etc.) spoke frankly about the challenges ahead and concrete solutions.

The two-day event addressed the urgent need to decarbonize logistics, and in particular the electrification of transport and delivery fleets, as well as warehouses and industrial sites. The corollary to these challenges is energy optimization and network resilience.

In conclusion, the findings are shared by all: the cooperation of all public and private players and a long-term commitment are essential for success. And one conviction, also shared : decarbonization is a lever for sustainable economic performance.

Our CSR strategy, in particular decarbonization, is the best way, if not the only way, to secure the long-term future of our company.

Executive Vice-President of La Poste Groupe, in charge of public service and regulation.
