La Poste group has almost 37,300 service outlets throughout France, 60,000 postmen and women who visit the homes of all French people 6 days a week, and a wide range of services. La Poste group's network, its proximity and the trust it has built up over the years make it a legitimate vector for social cohesion and regional development.

Working alongside local players, La Poste group identifies emerging needs and experiments with new ways of meeting them. By offering new services and innovative ways of being present, it is consolidating its position as a trusted operator, present and useful everywhere, for everyone, every day.

Accessible services throughout France

Through its day-to-day activities and the regional development mission entrusted to it by the State, La Poste group helps to reduce disparities between regions. La Poste's local presence is also due to the way it adapts its services to the variety of needs and situations of each individual: post offices, La Poste Relais outlets, community and inter-community agencies, and postman/woman counters are all the result of this understanding of local situations.

In concrete terms, 97% of French people live less than 5 km or 20 minutes by car from a point of contact.

Boosted by e-commerce, parcel delivery is a major challenge today. As a result, La Poste group is multiplying its delivery solutions and extending its opening hours. For example, 90% of Pickup outlets are open on Saturdays and 50% on Sundays, while 100% of Pickup lockers allow parcels to be collected 7 days a week.

In the same vein, La Poste has taken part in the opening of more than 500 of the 1,000 Maisons de services au public (public service centres) set up by the French government. These centres, which will become Frances Services in 2019, have been set up in each region in partnership with local authorities, enabling the French to carry out their administrative formalities with partner operators, while benefiting from personalised support. Accessible to all, including rural areas, they combine a human presence with digital tools to provide access to a range of government services.

More than 400 post offices have been awarded the France Services label and offer support for 80 online administrative procedures.

Contributing to local development

La Poste group supports more than 444,000 local jobs

The local economy is the driving force behind the vitality of our regions and the breeding ground for innovations that can lead to effective regional policies. To stimulate this movement, the group works with players in the social and solidarity economy (SSE) through, among other things, the "Alliance dynamique". This programme, which brings together around forty national networks and numerous local associations around La Poste group, aims to develop innovative responses to the needs of regions and populations.

In 2023, La Poste group worked with more than 598 companies involved in social integration through economic activity and in the adapted and protected sector, for a total amount of 43 million euros.

A key lever for promoting the Group's social commitments, the Group's purchasing policy conveys its values of exemplarity, responsibility and commitment to all its stakeholders. Group purchasing is a powerful lever for regional development, generating 5.2 billion euros in GDP and supporting nearly 100,000 jobs in France, 86% of which are permanent (source: Utopies study - 2023).

La Banque Postale is participating in this dynamic as the leading bank for local authorities and public hospitals.  La Banque Postale contributes 26% of bank financing for local authorities and 38% for public hospitals.
