Cyberattack on 22 December : what you need to know
Situation as of 1st January 2026
La Poste Groupe is experiencing a cyberattack that is disrupting its online services.
Like many companies, La Poste regularly thwarts cyberattacks, such as DDoS and other types, without its customers and partners noticing.
Since 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026, several billion connection attempts per second have been directed at La Poste Groupe's information systems. These connection attempts, intended to saturate and block internet access, are being sent from several million IP addresses—zombie computers or connected devices—that the attackers have taken control of remotely, without their owners, individuals or businesses, even being aware of it.
The involvement of the General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI) and the referral of the case to the specialized services of the gendarmerie by the Paris public prosecutor testify to the unprecedented nature of these attacks.
More than 300 cyber and information systems specialists from La Poste are mobilized to restore service.
La Poste Groupe reiterates that there has been no data leak.
Situation as of 26 December 2025
All La Poste Groupe's services are available following the unprecedented cyberattack on the group, which has now been contained. The laposte.fr website, and in particular the parcel tracking service, are operational. Parcel and letter delivery is running normally. La Banque Postale's online services are functioning, as are its call centers.

There has been absolutely no impact on customer data.
